Vienna description

Vienna is the capital and at the same time a federal state of Austria.

Vienna is home to major international organization such as: OPEC, IAEA and the UN. The city’s historic center was declared World Heritage by UNESCO.

The city, located in northeast Austria, 40 km from the border with Slovakia and about 50 km from Bratislava (capital of Slovakia).

Vienna is crossed by the Danube in its eastern part, while a small canal (the Donaukanal) skirts the old town to the east. Vienna includes the Danube island created artificially protect it from possible flooding. The island, settled in the park is used by people for sport or relaxing in the sun, also once a year (late June) is celebrated there for three days consecutive Donauinselfest (party island Danube).
