Comillas description
Comillas is a town of 2483 inhabitants located in the Spanish autonomous community of Cantabria the ocean at 17 km west of Santillana del Mar. It is known as the “city of the archbishops’ for having given birth to five prelates in medieval Resser various dioceses.
It is a quiet and elegant town declared Conjunto Histórico Artists for its unique architecture that distinguishes it from those typical of Cantabria. It is also a seaside resort well equipped and very popular during the summer months, but also for its beautiful beach located at the center of the country, for the chance to do water sports, fishing and underwater exploration, surfing, sailing.
Its economy is based on agriculture and livestock raising, fishing and especially tourism. Comillas in the Middle Ages was a small country that was living with his fishing harbor and a modest subsistence agriculture.
