Madrid description

The city of Madrid is the capital of Spain.

It is also the most populous municipality in the country, the third European Union after London and Berlin.

Is one of the highest capital of Europe, being 667 meters above sea level.

Madrid, with its obvious spatial structures, functional and appearance, is the differentiator in Madrid compared to the rest of the Spanish cities, which, conversely, the closer to other European capitals such as Paris, London or Vienna.

Until 2006, however, the specialty of the capital Madrid, was not recognized as regards logistics and planning. From that year through the promulgation of the “Capitalidad y Ley de Régimen Especial de Madrid, the capital of Madrid is officially recognized by the Spanish state.
