Lake District description
The county of Cumbria is home to the Lake District National Park, considered one of the most beautiful areas in the United Kingdom, and for centuries has provided inspiration to generations of British artists.
The highest peak in the county (and England) is the Scafell Pike, 978 m.
Parts of Hadrian’s Wall are visible in areas further north to Carlisle and the surrounding areas.
