New York description
New York is a city of the United States of America.
Located in the state of the same name, is the most populous city in the Union, and one of the most influential economic and cultural centers of the American continent and the world. Residents of New York are New Yorkers.
New York is a seaside town but its climate is distinctly continental.
The city is managed in accordance with a statute established by the Legislative Assembly of the State of New York. Although subject to the state, the city enjoys a high degree of legislative and executive autonomy.
As in most of the United States, the city government is divided into an executive branch, a legislature and a judiciary.
